Yukon hunters took a record number of bison this winter - 173 animals. Wildlife officials say mild weather may have been a factor, encouraging hunters to get out on the land. The Environment department welcomes the larger harvest, as the goal is to reduce the current population from about 1300 animals to 1000 animals.
